Pre-Care Instructions

To help ensure the best possible results and a comfortable experience, please follow these instructions before your appointment:

24–48 Hours Before Your Appointment

  • Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

  • Get a good night's sleep before your appointment.

  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your procedure.

  • Avoid excessive caffeine on the day of your appointment, as it may increase sensitivity and bleeding.

  • Avoid recreational drugs before your appointment.

One Week Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, sunburns, or tanning on the treatment area.

  • Do not wax, thread, chemically peel, or aggressively exfoliate the treatment area unless instructed otherwise.

  • Avoid Botox, fillers, or other cosmetic injections near the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your procedure unless approved by your provider.

Medications

  • Unless prescribed by your physician, avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements for 24–48 hours before your appointment, including:

    • Aspirin

    • Ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®)

    • Naproxen (Aleve®)

    • Fish oil

    • Vitamin E

    • Ginkgo Biloba

Do not discontinue any prescribed medication without first consulting your healthcare provider.

On the Day of Your Appointment

  • Eat a healthy meal before arriving.

  • Shower and arrive with clean skin and hair.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.

  • Do not apply lotions, oils, makeup, or sunscreen to the area being treated.

  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

Please Reschedule If:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding (where applicable to your procedure and provider recommendations).

  • You have a fever, cold, flu, COVID-19 symptoms, or another contagious illness.

  • You have an active rash, infection, open wound, severe acne breakout, or sunburn in the treatment area.

  • You have started antibiotics and have not completed the prescribed course.

  • You have consumed alcohol or recreational drugs before your appointment.

Consultation

Please notify your artist before your appointment if you:

  • Have diabetes or a condition that affects healing.

  • Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring.

  • Have allergies to pigments, latex, adhesives, or topical anesthetics.

  • Are taking prescription blood thinners or immune-suppressing medications.

  • Have recently undergone surgery or medical treatment affecting the treatment area.
